About Patrick Coupar
Thirteen years as an Ofsted graded 'outstanding' teacher working within state education (including nine years in leadership roles) has provided me with a wide variety of different skills. I believe that it has developed me into a hardworking, resilient and dynamic employee who can deal with a whole spectrum of challenges in an effective, efficient and positive manner. I joined Kada in 2021 having completed an MSc in Urban and Regional Planning (Distinction). I am skilled in quantitative & qualitative research and analysis, economic & social value impact analysis, and managing evaluations, strategies, and policy recommendations.I have delivered a wide range of reports and evaluations to audiences including partnership leads, business forums and regional boards. I am an effective communicator and manager who has received regular positive feedback for the diligent approach I take to ensuring client needs are fully met.Since being promoted to Senior Consultant I have project managed the evaluation of numerous different programmes for a wide variety of both public and private clients including the GLA, Sheffield Property Association, Cambridge University and the West of England Combined Authority. I have a strong understanding of the wider policy context and the current economic and political landscape.My recent Working from Home Economic Impact study for the Sheffield Property Association has gained widespread attention with it being cited and credited by a variety of leading policymakers and business representatives. As a father of three children including one with a rare chromosome disorder, I am also very proud that I have been able to balance professional responsibilities with family commitments. My working life has never come at the expense of my family and, even during the difficulties of the current pandemic, I have always seen these two responsibilities as complimentary. The challenges and joys of family life have (hopefully!) made me a more resilient, compassionate, well rounded and holistic person.My skills are underpinned by a strong academic base. I have a MA in Politics from the University of Glasgow, a PGCE from the University of Bath and an MSC in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Sheffield. I have always approached education as a lifelong journey and a means to new thoughts, ideas and opportunities, that ensures continued personal and professional development that stops you from stagnating in long held preconceptions, beliefs and patterns of life.
