A member of the emerging Coastal Resiliency Initiative at EA, my role has revolved on developing nature based coastal solutions to solve the increasing problems surrounding climate change. Field experiences have included wetland work, shoreline maintenance, offshore wind research among many other projects for a variety of clients including NOAA, DoD, and.

I will be spending the next year as a member of the Alumni Service Corps at Gonzaga College High School. Within this role I will be tasked with assisting with substitute teaching, leading service and retreat opportunities, and helping with different daily tasks as needed at the school and around campus.

My work consists mainly of external research to discover the best practices to enhance our programs and strengthen our alumni relationships. As well, data analysis and assisting with preparing and staffing alumni events.

I worked to restore the wetlands of the Anacostia watershed this summer. I spent time working with freshwater mussels, submerged aquatic vegetation, and water quality devices. I was able to work hands-on in a very diverse ecosystem to learn a lot about improving the overall health of this environment.

I will be working hands-on with the rehabilitation of wild animals, learning about the requirements of conditioning for release, and assisting with rescues. As well, learning about the natural history, husbandry, enrichment and nutritional requirements of the wild patients brought in while rearing or for recovery from an injury.

My work consists of analyzing wave energy data, and how it is used to create renewable energy. As well, I am learning about the process of desalination of sea water using ocean barges that absorb wave energy, and how the coastline can be preserved from erosion.
