Driven by a strong conservation ethic, my practice serves clients seeking sensible, ecologically mindful, high performance design for buildings, spaces and places. Central to and deeply embedded in this agenda is my commitment to enhancing and sustaining human and planetary health through biophilic design - - that is, a more "natureful" architecture. In further support of this agenda, I am also a Certified Virginia Master Naturalist, which entails volunteer community service and educating the general public around conservation and stewardship of Virginia's natural resources. Dating back to the late 80’s, my career has focused primarily on housing, light commercial and small scale cultural and educational facilities. I also bring nearly 20 years of experience with solar energy systems and over a decade of involvement with design-build project delivery.
