Design and Simulation Team - 3D Printable Biosensors • Designed wire configurations with piezoelectric filament (PVDF) for the purpose of creating FDM 3D printable wearable biosensors. • Performed FEA in SolidWorks Simulation (static load) on various points on the design to observe deformability.Research and Data Acquisition Team – Sensor-fusion and Machine Learning • Researched COVID19 symptoms for applicable and easily accessible sensors, such as temperature (MLX90614), ECG (AD8232), and heart rate (MAX30102). • Created multiple Python programs with GUI to acquire data from various sensors simultaneous through serial communication. • Implemented Python functions that preprocessed data and applied descriptive statistics for implementation into machine learning programs with the purpose of early detection of COVID19, or other illnesses.• Programmed an ESP32 microcontroller to collect data from a 6-axis gyroscope + accelerometer sensor (Gy-521 MPU6050), converting raw data from the sensor’s registers to degrees per second and g-force for use in an auto-balancing system.• Implemented options to transmit data wired through serial communication, wireless through bluetooth, and wireless through uploading data to a local web server and obtaining the data through Python. • Trained students fundamentals of Arduino and Python to allow continued development of current programs and projects.

• Designed a mechanical arm support system using gear ratios to manipulate torque output from a spring with the goal of increasing cycles till failure and decreasing size of current system.• Designed non-circular gears iteratively using MATLAB and exported to SolidWorks for CAD.• Rapidly prototyped gears with PLA and PETG using FDM 3D printing. • Proved mechanism concept successfully with a torque testing machine, producing a sinusoidal torque output with a linear torque input.
