• Serves as the Senator’s lead strategist for legislation, communications, and constituent services. • Directly supervises office staff while setting and overseeing the administration of office goals, policies, and procedures. • Communicates and coordinates staff efforts while maintaining a good working relationship with the Senator, staff, and constituents.

• Assist in the development of policy positions and corresponds with constituents, advocates, the media, and otherlegislative offices to advance the Senator’s legislative priorities.• Oversees the progression of bills with which the Senator is involved including important environmentallegislation focusing on climate preparedness and resiliency.

• Served as the central point of contact for all news media. Developed the communications strategy for the office and for legislative efforts.• Drafted remarks, talking points, press releases and statements, op-ed columns, and other written pieces for the Senator.• Managed the Senator’s legislative website and social media accounts. Developed visual graphics and other multimedia assets for use on social media and elsewhere.

• Research, tracking, and analysis of legislation and budget matters, managing constituent correspondence/casework, and representing the Senator at meetings/events in assigned policy areas, with focus on policy areas of high priority to Senator and district• Collaborating with legislative, advocate, and community partners to steward legislation from drafting to enactment• Liaising with state, local, and federal offices to provide assistance to constituents in the delivery of state and community services• Maintaining knowledge of key local issues and stakeholders in assigned neighborhoods, and working with neighborhood organizations, groups, and residents on such issues

Taught high school students Marine Ecology through both rigorous hours in the classroom and hands on field work. In addition, responsibilities included leading students on academic based SCUBA dives and helping faculty with professional marine research. Also acted as a mentor for students who were also interested in the environmental field.

Performed daily samples at roughly 20 different points of coastal waters and lakes while helping staff analyze the conditions and safety of the water in Boston.
