Pat Harvey focuses his practice on class actions and other complex high-stakes business litigation. In his decade of practice, Pat has litigated legal disputes covering a substantial variety of business torts and contractual disputes. A significant part of his current practice involves the Americans with Disabilities Act and its application to new technologies. He has also represented clients in trademark and copyright disputes, qui tam False Claims Act cases, complex class actions, civil rights cases, and multidistrict environmental litigation.Pat handles all stages of litigation in both federal and state forums, from pre-suit investigations, arguing dispositive motions, trial, and appeal. He recently second-chaired a two week jury trial in federal court that resulted in a complete defense verdict for a Fortune 25 company. Pat also successfully briefed and argued an appeal before the Supreme Court of Virginia, resulting in a unanimous affirmance in a published opinion, Young-Allen v. Bank of Am., N.A., 839 S.E.2d 897 (Va. 2020).Additionally, Pat has an active pro bono practice representing those seeking asylum in the United States.Previously, Pat served as a judicial intern for US District Judge Roger W. Titus in the District of Maryland, and as a legal intern in the general counsel’s office of National Public Radio.
