Worked to create a course that relies on industry best practices and frameworks such as NIST, CIS, and SANS to educate students. Educate students in technical portions of information security including practical networking skills, usage of Linux in a VM for incident response and malware analysis, offensive security, wireless security, and physical security. Technical labs and coursework is highlighted by written analysis that mirrors business communication. Other topics including user education, penetration testing, and defense in depth help give students a well rounded introduction to security and some of the challenges of the field.Using my experience I was able to create a course that helped students become future information security professionals with the ability to articulate technical concerns referenced in industry standards and communicated clearly. This combination of technical, communication, and defensive skills is a great foundation for further learning in information security.
