This past semester, I worked for New Hampshire Humanities, a non-profit organization based in Concord, dedicated to integrating the humanities into the surrounding community. My main focus was to manage their social media pages which involved creatively promoting their programs. I also gained experience managing the content on their website to advertise upcoming events. I enjoyed writing captions and making some of their fascinating events more marketable to their audience. During the semester, I also worked for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, a Double-A baseball team in Manchester affiliated with the Toronto Blue Jays, as a front office intern. In this position, I was able to work in a number of different departments: corporate sales, box office, merchandise, and marketing. Working in these different fields taught me that I enjoy helping customers, learning new software, and working with fellow employees. I found it fascinating to observe the contracts between the team and local organizations, and also how to field phone calls from customers. Prior to my internships, I've worked summer jobs at two restaurants: the Landfall and Pickle Jar Kitchen in Falmouth, MA. I spent time serving and bussing tables over the span of seven years which has allowed for me to develop customer service skills. The past two summers I've also worked as an assistant to the foreman for a local landscaping company. I gained an appreciation for working hard while enjoying the outdoors.
