Leadership is an enduring trait. When someone stops developing their leadership toolbox, they have stopped being a leader. I have 30 plus years of servant leadership experience. Backed by university instruction and powerful knowledge. As a Master Gunnery Sergeant of Marines, I was the senior Enlisted Advisor to the Commanding Officer in all disciplines regarding warfighting functions of an Infantry Battalion. Inclusive in this, the employment and capabilities of organic weapons, information technologies, cyber security, daily reports, readiness capabilities and ultimately preparing a Marine battalion to equip, train, and deploy to fight worldwide. I had the honor and privilege to be the Infantry Occupational Field sponsor (Monitor), at Headquarters Marine Corps. I was responsible to the Command of the Marine Corps, ensuring over 400 Marine Corps units worldwide where properly staffed, projected staffing's and at readiness strength levels in order to deploy to fight in most cases. I became a subject matter expert at Human Resources, managing and maintaining an occupational field of over 2500 Infantry Unit Leaders. No easy task, concurrent with this, was the largest force reduction in over 30 years. I was more than fortunate to have the greatest team in the world to work with. Professionals all! Since retiring I have had the ability to attain what I never thought possible as a young man growing up, not only attaining my Batchlors degree, but being able to attend Michigan State University and attain my graduate degree. I am a very proud Spartan! I look forward to expanding my horizons. Being able to help ethically shape corporate America, and at the same time teaching, coaching, leading and mentoring the next generation. While I definitely believe in mission accomplishment, this must be attained through a leadership style that is thoughtful, compassionate and executed correctly the first time. I am humbled by the network that I have been able to establish on this medium. I look forward to collaboration for many years to come. Go Green!
