Although Patrick has been a practicing veterinarian for over 20 years, he is passionate about living sustainably. He has lived off the grid for the past 25 years. His lifestyle is a prime example of how someone can maintain a good standard of living and yet have minimal ecological impact. His home is run completely off of solar energy, they have a 600 square foot earth sheltered greenhouse, and a small barn for turkeys and chickens. Patrick maintains an active and modern lifestyle yet consumes 95% less water and 75% less electricity than the average American household. Patrick's experience over the past 25 years is what lead him to start a blog called Off Grid Living News, as well as the podcast Adventures in Sustainable Living. Patrick focuses on sharing and teaching the knowledge and skills of living off the grid and maintaining a sustainable lifestyle. Patrick writes and publishes content weekly and is also focuses on developing courses that focus on living sustainably. Patrick believes that from a global perspective people are starting to realize the importance of sustainability. He looks forward to connecting and networking with anyone who focuses their time and attention in the area of sustainability. Despite 25 years of living a sustainable, off-grid lifestyle, Patrick actively strives to learn more about living sustainably because this is how we will build a better future.
