My role as Development Engineer includes developing all areas within the company. I have responsibilities setting up new processes, updating procedures and assisting in implementing company strategy.

As a design engineer I worked with customers to bring their product to fruition. Using my knowledge of CAD/CAM I created programs for their tools and trim of parts. I worked with the production manager and tool making staff to ensure that deadlines where kept and that the product met the customers requirements

As a placement student I got to experience many different roles within Donite. I started by working hands on with production, getting a complete view of all stages of their manufacturing process. I then moved to learning a 3D CAM package, programming in 3 axis for moulds and fixtures, later programming 5 axis for trim of parts.For the last 5 months i was given responsibility for carrying certain projects from costumer brief through to final prototype. The position involved consulting with customers and creating a design that suits their needs, designing, programming and machining their tools within the deadline to meet production needs.
