About Patrick Lewis

My passion for polar environments is coupled with a broad scientific background, a practical understanding of the governance environment of the Antarctic Treaty System and a history of working across professional divides to deliver practical results. Having spent twelve seasons working around the poles, I have a grounded understanding of the challenges presented by the Antarctic environment. My career has focused on working at the interface of marine science and policy in the global maritime sector, and I have worked directly with ship operators, crews, officers and engineers to implement pragmatic on-the-ground solutions to technical, scientific and logistics challenges. My approach is both pragmatic and innovative, as evidenced by my role as the founding director of a start-up company delivering a new digital biofouling management solutions to the global shipping sector.
