I spent most of my time at the Humanities Advanced Technology and Information Institute (HATII) at the University of Glasgow working for the Digital Curation Centre (DCC - http://www.dcc.ac.uk). Latterly my DCC work was primarily on DMPonline (http://dmponline.dcc.ac.uk, https://github.com/DigitalCurationCentre/DMPonline_v4, DMP = Data Management Plan), a pilot of a UK Research Data Registry and Discovery Service and on the Collaboration to Clarify the Costs of Curation (4C project - http://4cproject.eu). I also worked for the University of Glasgow Archives on their websites. Previous work included the DCC's CARDIO tool (http://cardio.dcc.ac.uk), the CASPAR project (http://casparpreserves.eu) and working with UK HEIs to develop their research data management capacity as part of the DCC's programme of Institutional Engagements.Most of the work has been software design and development work, usually on web applications using a range of technologies such as PHP (including OO-PHP and in particular the Symfony framework), Ruby on Rails, Java, MySQL, JavaScript/jQuery and CSS. I've also written and presented reports and papers reviewing the landscape in a number of areas (e.g. the use of the Cloud in digital curation, a comparison of curation cost models) as well as on my development work, and I have contributed to workshops and training events.
