If everything goes well, my topic will be "The Maya Calendars" - they had a number of calendars, used individually and concurrently. Very confusing, very exciting. Check UNF's 2021/2022 catalog once it is issued. In the Winter semester we'll follow up with "The Golden Age of Piracy" and the Summer of 2022 visiting "Ancient Florida - from Mega Fauna to the First Snowbirds".A fellow traveler once told me, "The study of history is a waste of time". Like many others, he underestimates the value of understanding the past and how individuals have shaped both past, present and future history. It is through the understanding of these individuals and how their respective societies helped shape them, we can come to terms with our world.
