•Train workers in food preparation, and in service, sanitation, and safety procedures.•Lead a kitchen of up to five workers in order to ensure efficient food delivery and ticket times.•Resolve customer complaints regarding food service.•Supervise and participate in kitchen and dining area cleaning activities.•Control inventories of food, equipment, and liquor, and report shortages to general manager.•Create weekly food orders to obtain supplies and equipment needed to ensure quality and timely delivery of services.•Observe and evaluate workers and work procedures to ensure quality standards and service, and complete disciplinary write-ups.•Interview new staff members and terminate unsatisfactory employees.•Compile and balance cash receipts at the end of the day or shift.•Perform various financial activities such as cash handling, deposit preparation, and payroll.•Keep track of expenditures and input invoices•Create weekly schedules and balance labor percentages•Coordinate large catering orders for many organizations including the VIP LSU tailgate for all football games during the 2013 season. Estimate and oversee food preparation for up to 800 people per game Organize logistics and obtain equipment for food serving and transportation Direct a crew of up to 12 employees per game.
