I am a partner in Walkers' top tier ranked London office, specialising in BVI, Bermuda and Cayman Islands corporate and finance advice to clients in the European time zone.I have spent 17 years in private practice and almost a decade offshore, and have worked on some of the highest profile and most complex corporate and finance offshore transactions of recent years. These include the $55bn sale of TNK-BP, the $2bn take private of Luxoft Holding, the $1.5bn business combination of SPAC Queen's Gambit and SWVL, the $1.3bn take private of UTi Worldwide, the $8bn acquisition by Liberty Media of Formula One, Uber's $3.1bn acquisition of Careem, Foster Wheeler's take private of MDM Engineering, the IPO of Alberton Acquisition Corp as a BVI SPAC, various regulatory licensees and trust companies on acquisitions, changes of control and regulatory filings, together with numerous finance transactions. Having trained and worked as a banking and finance lawyer in London with Macfarlanes, I moved to the BVI in 2012 and joined Walkers' BVI office as a partner in 2017. I was the managing partner of the BVI office from 2018 to 2020 before relocating to join Walkers' market leading London office. My practice covers a wide range of complex corporate, finance, restructuring and fintech matters, involving equity capital markets (including IPOs and SPACs), M&A, joint ventures, corporate reorganisations, financings, security enforcement and restructuring matters, crypto and token issuances and deFi structures.
