About Patrick Rush

Wonder and purpose were the tenets that served me well within the NYC Department of Education throughout my five year tenure. Traditional classroom teaching was a wonderfully positive and life changing experience but it also had some shortcomings. I taught throughout the city, in Bushwick Brooklyn, Wakefield in the Bronx, Chinatown and lastly in Washington Heights. Teaching in those locations brought many wonderfully positive and life changing experiences that helped me grow both personally and professionally. These diverse locations and situations helped me adapt both as a person and as an educator. Wonder and purpose also lead me to make my own personal decision to leave New York City and my secure public school teaching job with it. I have moved out of the city, into a beautiful town in Colorado and it would be a blessing to change careers. The Probation Department at the Colorado Springs Municipal Court has given me the opportunity to refine my knowledge of the criminal justice system and probation in particular. It is my core belief that individuals are made to help one another. This should always be priority number one in all thoughts and decisions. I would be thoroughly excited to experience guiding others in a new role, one that could challenge me in a novel way.
