I am a currently working in Dr. Jungwoo Lee’s lab at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where I am a PhD candidate in the molecular and cellular biology department. My research is focused on developing tissue engineered bone models for high throughput drug screening and applying them to study bone cancer metastasis, regulation of bone remodeling, and bone aging. Our models demonstrate significant advantages over existing assay platforms and offer exciting opportunities for commercialization. Characterized Antibody-Drug-Conjugates using native spray intact mass spectrometry. Applied Design of Experiment (DOE) to efficiently optimize LC/MS parameters for intact ADC characterization. Operated a synapt-G2-si mass spectrometer and water HPLC instrumentation. Analyzed and interpreted data in ProteinMetrics and Masslynx software.

I participated in an NSF sponsored I-Corp Innovators program to start a Biotech company based off my lab's research. Bone Marrow Technologies is a start up biotechnology company founded by Dr. Jungwoo Lee. We plan to provide human metabolic bone assays for high throughput drug screening. Bone Marrow Technologies will establish three sets of DBP-based human bone metabolic assays in 96-well plates; (i) bone anabolic, (ii) anti-bone resorptive, and (iii) bone remodeling assays. We aim to deliver two products: (i) bone anabolic and anti-bone resorptive assay platforms for academic end users and (ii) bone metabolic assay services for industrial users. Our advanced bone metabolic assays will provide following benefits to end-users and pharmaceutical companies. First, a bone anabolic assay will greatly shorten the cell culture period to assess a different mineralized bone forming activity as DBP directs rapid, substantial mineral depositition by osteoblasts. Second, an anti-bone resorptive assay will generate comparable osteoclastogenesis and mineral resorption data to bone discs while allowing fluorescence microscopy access with considerably low cost. Finally, a bone remodeling assay where osteoblasts and osteoclasts are co-cultured on DBP will recapitulate their functional crosstalk that in turn generates more clinically relevant drug response. Since there exists no bone remodeling assay in the market, this metabolic assay will provide exclusive benefit to better predict clinical outcomes .
