I am also working towards refining my thinking from an SRE perspective to identify toil and automate simple-to-intermediate tasks and high-priority incidents that do not necessarily require human intervention. I have thus far helped develop an automation handler in Flask that run simple Ansible playbooks to cure critical alerts and a scheduled script that properly reloads production-critical lookup data to meet a high-profile customer request. We leveraged Datadog and Pagerduty to monitor clusters and take on P0's. In 2020 I became the sole Application Expert and leveraged my knowledge/experience to handle any and all disasters, including security incidents and deleterious performance issues. I also helped develop a process to evenly balance data to avoid a large increase infrastructure costs on our biggest cluster, in addition to provisioning the cluster with the help of the Engineering Team.
