Patrick received a BA in Creative Writing in 2001, a BS in Psychology in 2013, a Master of Public Health in 2020. Entering the behavioral health field in 2014 with La Frontera in Tucson, he worked with the GMH and SMI population for almost a year before moving to La Frontera’s opioid treatment program (OTP) in January 2015 where he spearheaded the clinic’s naloxone prescription program, the first such program at a behavioral health agency or OTP in the state of Arizona. Patrick moved to Community Medical Services – Tucson in May 2017 where he currently works as the Pima County correctional health supervisor.Patrick has presented on MAT 101 to various correctional health representatives, such as probation and parole officers. Patrick has presented on his personal experiences as a former consumer of MAT services at community substance abuse events. Patrick has also been selected to present at many conferences including the 2017 Cesar Chavez Behavioral Health Conference, the 2020 Arizona Problem Solving Courts Conference, the 2021 Southwestern School for Behavioral Health Studies Conference, and the 2021 National Conference on Correctional Health Care.
