I love helping people. It’s a theme that runs deeply throughout my life. In my real estate practice, I help real estate developers, investors, owners, lenders, and tenants structure, negotiate, and close complex real estate transactions in New York and throughout the United States, including joint ventures, development and ground leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, 1031 exchanges, leasing (office, retail, and warehouse/industrial), financing (representing borrowers and lenders), and other commercial real estate transactions. I particularly enjoy highly complex deals, and deals with some "hair" on them, helping my clients devise creative solutions to thorny problems. I bring a unique skill set to my clients, leveraging over 17 years of sophisticated legal practice across all asset classes throughout the country. Combining this with my business roots and high EQ, I provide practical, creative, thorough, and compassionate guidance to my clients. I’m grateful to say that my clients become my friends, and I care deeply about getting the best result for them, their families, and their investors. I grew up in a small business, worked at a startup, and am an active angel investor, advisor, and mentor. Thanks to my background in business, I can more readily understand the pain points my clients experience and I pride myself on making deal-making fun. My style of practice is to be my clients’ trusted advisor, confidant, and advocate. I bring thoughtful, creative, and positive energy to the table. As a connector, I help people find their people. Their tribe. Through dinner series that I host or relationships that I facilitate, online or off, I love seeing how two people might overlap and bringing them together to create lasting friendships and business partnerships. As an angel investor and mentor, I help entrepreneurs bring their big ideas to life. I’m passionate about enabling people’s dreams, and I welcome the opportunity to explore new business ideas and add value where I can. Also, I’m deeply fascinated by what's possible, what’s changing, and what’s already changed but hasn't gone mainstream. Some topics I've been exploring are: real estate/urban planning/inclusive housing, personal development/growth, psychology, philosophy, flow states, high performance, mastery, writing, future and future tech, and impact/impact investing, among others. Always happy to nerd out on these and other subjects. So, how can I help you? Let’s connect, create, and make the world a better place to live and work!

FounderFounders And Funders Oct 2016 - PresentFounders and Funders was born out of my frustration with traditional networking and pitch events. Every time I attended one, I felt that the environment was superficial and unnecessarily aggressive. Whether it was people sizing you up in big networking events or attacking like piranhas in pitch events, I always left feeling like I didn't have the chance to genuinely connect with anyone. So, I put together a simple concept. An informal, intimate dinner gathering. I aim to have seven attendees at each dinner, three "Founders," three "Funders," and me. Attendees are not released in advance of the dinner. There is no agenda. The conversation is allowed to flow naturally. People will naturally talk about their businesses and any overlap, but people also talk about many other things, from technology to philosophy and everything in between. There is a strict "no pitch" policy. There is the hope and expectation that people will leave the dinner and end up doing business together, but the purpose is to create real and lasting connections and friendships. There is also a strict "no jerk" policy. The culture of the group is one of the fundamental pillars and, I think, has been one of the main drivers for the success of the dinners to date.Lastly, this is not a sponsored or membership-based event. In other words, there is no price to attend or membership to buy, we just split the check individually to make it a low pressure environment. In the end, it's all about the vibe and cultivating a network of good people who are doing great things.
