Safety Manager
Current-Oversee staff of 3 safety supervisors.-Develop, manage, and oversee safety-related policies and procedures, identify and communicate rotating emphasis areas-Act as main terminal contact for health, safety, training, and related procedures/policies, act as main liaison with external agencies (Cal/OSHA, SCAQMD, AAR, FRA)-Develop effective relationships with staff and customers through sound personnel decisions, assessing customer needs, promoting collaboration, clear communication, and providing feedback/recognition-Manage EHS management system, including incident management with root cause investigations, compliance tasks, EHS audits, risk assessments, and workers' compensation-Serve as subject matter expert and lead in executing site safety/risk/waste management initiatives aligned with corporate strategy-Collaborate with corporate safety leadership to address terminal health and safety issues-Conduct spot checks/reviews on completed audits and vehicle condition reports to ensure accuracy and follow-up actions-Direct and oversee entire incident/injury reporting process, providing feedback to Safety and Operations teams to ensure timely completion of corrective actions-Maintain safety files, accident/injury logs, and training documentation, including Cal/OSHA 300-Utilize injury/claims analysis reports to identify trends and opportunities for safety improvement. -Reduced YoY OSHA recordable injuries by 33%, accidents by 40%.Exercise a variety of influence tactics, communication strategies, and soft skills to achieve program buy-in from local staff of 1000 employees, managers, and supervisors.
