Pat Taylor is an experienced marketing professional who enjoys using his training, facilitation, and project management skills developed over a diverse career spent mostly in high-technology. In 2006 he joined W. L. Gore, where he was responsible for strategic marketing for businesses ranging from the Life Sciences to Automotive Membranes. While there, he developed and facilitated “Strategy Development in Two Days" sessions; developed and implemented “Voice of the Customer” programs, which led to new product concepts and new segmentation strategies; and worked with the medical devices group to help bring them "marketing DNA." Prior to Gore, Pat was a consultant for specialty chemical firms in the Northeast, as well as for small businesses in Western New York. He was an accredited Executive Associate of the Institute for Independent Business.In 2002, Pat left Praxair Electronics Gases after many years. In his final years there, he served as Business Development Manager, where he evaluated 25 opportunities, and negotiated and implemented eight strategic marketing and R & D agreements.Pat took a two-year hiatus from business development in the late ‘90s, as he worked full-time implementing an alliance with Merck KGaA, which joined Praxair’s electronic gases group with Merck’s electronic chemicals for a $420 million partnership. Pat held worldwide responsibility.Pat also was the Technology Manager for several years, and was a Product Marketing Manager, where he wrote numerous articles, and developed the first Electronics gases catalog.A native of New Jersey, Pat graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Rutgers University with a degree in chemistry. Pat currently lives in the university town of Newark, Delaware, with his wife Diane. He haunts the gym daily, enjoys reading, and “collects” countries – over 80 to-date.
