I am a 5th year PhD student in the Biochemistry Department at Indiana University. As a graduate student I have studied membrane protein misfolding, -1 ribosomal frameshifting in viral and eukaryotic contexts, and how these phenomena relate to disease, specifically cystic fibrosis. I have mastered techniques in molecular biology and eukaryotic cell culture and cell based assays. I have published a first author paper with two more currently in preparation. I have refined my leadership skills through teaching as well as my vice president position on the Graduate Representative Committee.CORE COMPETENCIES:Mammalian/ Bacterial Cell Culture, Flow Cytometry, DNA Cloning, Deep Mutational Scanning, In Vitro Assays, Protein Purification, Grant Writing, Science Communication, Python and MATLAB.☛ CONTACT INFORMATION✉ pcarmod@indiana.edu✆ (774) 573-4102 ✰✰✰✰✰✰✰✰✰✰✰✰✰
