I have spent my career working to advance opportunities for students in districts across Michigan. With a deep appreciation for the cultural, curricular, and structural shifts necessary for 21st-century learning, I have successfully led districts through strategic planning and alignment, collective bargaining, curriculum development, change leadership, and community outreach.In my current role as Chief Academic Officer at Bay City Public Schools, I serve as the district's Deputy Superintendent with responsibility for the academic programs at our 13 schools serving 6,500+ students in grades PK-12. I am responsible for curriculum and instruction, state and federal programs, principal supervision, student growth and assessment, district improvement, professional development, media services, and technology. Under my leadership, we have successfully launched the redesign of two historically underperforming schools in alignment with the community's collective vision for student success. Additionally, I have negotiated teacher contracts and resolved district-level grievances, overseen the rapid transition to 1:1 technology for all students and staff during COVID-19, and directed the utilization of several multi-million dollar budgets to meet district goals.Prior to my role at Bay City Public Schools, I served as Assistant Superintendent at Meridian Public School, where I successfully aligned building-level initiatives with the district's vision of postsecondary readiness for all. Additionally, as the Principal of Meridian Early College High School, I transformed the traditional 4-year high school into a full-school early college experience where all students were expected to earn at least 15 college credits before graduation.Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to driving innovation and community outreach, including my role as the founding Director of the Niles New Tech Entrepreneurial Academy, where I transformed student and staff culture through the intentional design of a new school. As an Adjunct Professor at Saginaw Valley State University, I also helped prepare future educational leaders for school leadership in a changing world.I am a member of several professional organizations, including the Bay City Morning Rotary, the Michigan Association of Superintendents & Administrators, and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. I am committed to driving growth for students and staff alike, and I am excited to bring my skills and experience to new opportunities in the education industry.
