I work in a world-class team of diversely-awesome software experts to help make software organizations deliver better software, in a steady flow. Every day I learn something new at Industrial Logic. In many ways, a dream come true for me.

At Bill Highway, I am helping to lead the agile transformation of a small group of developers and testers. A large part of this involves helping the team to learn Agile Testing and Agile Programming practices, from low-level TDD/BDD, Refactoring, and Clean Code, to Automated Acceptance Testing ("Storytesting"), and every manner of automated testing in.

I focus on mentoring, teaching, and coaching teams on agile developer practices and agile testing practices. I increasingly coach at higher levels, on structural, inter-personal, and cultural issues of organizational agility.

I build lightweight Java web applications, lead Java teams, and train and coach programmers all over North America in agile software development methods, specializing in Test-Driven Development (TDD). During Adaption's 5-year tenure, I had one 6-month hiatus as a fulltime employee at Ternary Software (see that position description for details).

At Ternary I lead an agile software development team that produced Java web applications for Ternary clients. I wrote code, and helped steer architecture, design, and process decisions for my team. I helped close deals, and had accountability and responsibility for the projects and client relationship, including contracts and billing.

I helped design and build internal systems for monitoring and reporting the state of SNMP network devices. I also ran a department charged with designing and disseminating software process standards.

I helped design systems to bring AOL services, especially instant messaging, to small wireless devices.

ASP and JSP web application development on a number of small and large e-commerce sites.

JSP web application development and Macromedia Director Lingo programming. The company had a number of e-commerce, web services, and multimedia clients in the mid-to-late 90s, but has since folded.

As a programmer and multimedia producer, I produced CD-ROM and interactive Web content for clients like Magnet Interactive, Nicholson Associates, GreetStreet, and the U.S. Navy. The CD-ROM titles for girls that I worked on with Theresa Duncan (Chop Suey, Smarty Pants, and Zero Zero) won numerous awards for their imaginative approach to interactive.

At Kaizen Works I was responsible for all Project Management and Production on a variety of Web projects and multimedia CD-ROM projects for companies and agencies in the Washington, D.C. area. A design and development staff of 8 persons reported to me. My staff and I produced a promotional on-line Shockwave game (using Macromedia Director) called Celebrity.
