As and Executive Partner in the Gartner Executive Program I coach, challenge and support CEOs, CDOs, CIOs and IT leaders in Nordic countries in their roles driving digital transformation and developing the enterprises with speed, adaptability and agility but in a cost optimized way.

Responsible for Tieto's deliveries, their modernization, customer experience and transformation related to Tieto's Technology Services.

I was hired as a group CIO to drive IT transfomation. In 2012 Outokumpu started to plan for the aquisition and merger with Inoxum (Thyssen Krupp Stainless) and I was responsible for the IT part. In 2013 the integration program started and continued with further synergies and transfomation of how IT is conducted and delviered. The Transformation from a craftmanship like IT to the modernized IT of today took place during the years 2012 until 2016. Initial steps to explore digitalisation opportunities have been started and a major business transformation program has been launched including IT application architecture renewals to support new business operational models.In 2016 I was nominated as one of 4 candiates to become the CIO of the year in Finland.

Responsible for Nordic level Technology Sales in the Resources Industry (Chemical, Natural Resources, Forest, Energy and Utilities) with focus on larger deal sales and Outsourcing. Also responsible for the Finnish people in Outsourcing delivery and all Technology work including delivery and growht of Accenture at a Key Account in the Resources Industry.

During this period I was responsible for the overall outsourcing business of Accenture in Finland including sales & marketing, delivery and personnel. The focus was on accelerating the profitable growth of the Application Management Service business and starting up Accenture’s Infrastructure and Business Process Outsourcing services in Finland. As Accenture was well recognised by the market as a consultancy company but at that time not well recognised as an outsourcing provider, my objective was to raise the awareness in the market and change the impression. I was able to create visibility in the local media by initiating interviews on topics like e.g. off-shoring and outsourcing case examples. I also lead Accenture’s involvement on external seminars like the Management Events Business and IT Outsourcing seminar for 3 consecutive years.

During this period I had several different roles and responsibilities. I started my career at Accenture as a programmer and progressed rapidly to become a team lead for design and development teams and then to a project manager. I was a key contributor in several process development and IT projects. In 1997 I spent more than 1 year leading the country deployment of a custom build ERP solution for a global telecom organisation in Düsseldorf Germany. In the success of these projects it was critical to build sponsorship in the local organisation and carefully plan the communication timelines, delivery responsibilities and messages to engage the organisation and avoid change resistance.At the beginning of 1995 I took the responsibility of the process-excellence group at Accenture Finland. I focused personally especially on developing my supply chain process related skills. I conducted several supply chain training session both internally at Accenture and for Accenture’s clients.In the late 90s I took the responsibility of the Accenture’s Human Performance consultancy group (currently Talent & Organisational performance). During the first years of the 21st century I lead and participated in several larger change programs related to e.g. eCommerce solutions and was responsible for change and program management activities. In the spring 2003 I took the responsibility of the transition and the delivery of one of Accenture’s first major outsourcing contracts located in Tampere Finland. 23 persons transferred to Accenture. I lead the integration of the personnel to the very consulting oriented Accenture organization and managed to run the contract with good profit and personnel satisfaction during the first 3 years. In 2004 I was responsible for the sale of a 25+ MUSD 7 years Application Outsourcing contract for Accenture in the telecoms R&D sector. The opportunity was initiated by a cold call.

I did my thesis for Amica. I developed an integration layer for data collection from all Point of Sale terminals of the over 300 Amica restaurants in Finland. Utilising the new technology Amica was able to report its country level sales the same evening after all restaurants had closed for the day. The system significantly improved the management reaction time and visibility to the business. The technology used was IBM OS/2 Database Manager and embedded SQL and C. The collected information was uploaded to Lotus 123/G spreadsheets and management reports were created by Lotus macro language and presented as charts to the leadership

At Unicom Consulting I worked with microcomputer technologies and LAN environments. I was responsible for the programming of a credit card payment terminal targeted to the Finnish market. Programming languages used were C and Assembler. I was also responsible for the development and maintenance of Unicom’s Local Area Network and for developing material and conducting training sessions for the following course: MS Lan Manager, C-programming and OS/2 network
