I’ve recently left Expleo which meant I could pick-up my volunteer role as Head of Fabric at St. Alkmunds Church, Derby for a short period. We’ve developed a strategy to make changes, repairs and improvements to our building and so I’ve now had the time to project manage the re-building of the church’s front steps and ramp, apply for grant aid where applicable and prepare the next stages of our repair and improvement strategy. Now I’m beginning to seek a new paid role to coincide with the completion of the work. I can’t help but think my new employer will gain a reinvigorated employee with wider, valuable experience and yes, probably a slight whiff of fresh paint and cement dust!

Key member of a tri-company solution to BAE-Systems extensive tooling requirements. Working with Aerostructures Hamble and Mayflower Aerospace, assisted in the development, writing and presentation of an innovative concept to deliver a wide range of jigs, fixtures and mould tools for composites and general aerostructures.Represented the company in arbitration, developing cohesive arguments from technical and manufacturing staff, liaising with solicitors.Concluded a licensing agreement with Boeing for a low cost tooling system.Represented and enrolled MGA into SBAC. Represented SME's on the Competitive Challenge Steering Group.Co-ordinated MGA's aerospace sales and business development activity. Devised, sold and managed a number of aerospace programmes through the workshops i.e. Apache Longbow Radome Tooling, Bombardier CRJ-700 Components, ST-50 Horizontal Stabiliser, Flight surfaces and Spars.

Joining in 1984 as a Toolmaker, progressed through shop floor management to Project and Senior Project Manager, then finally Programmes Manager.Designed, sold and managed the design and manufacture of tooling for the ST-50 aircraft build by Israviation. This £1.3 million contract covered virtually the whole aircraft and included problem solving with the customer throughout the design and prototype assembly phase.Managed a technology transfer contract between ACG and Fokker. Conceived and produced low cost tooling for the manufacture of a tape laid Horizontal Stabiliser and proved advanced manufacturing techniques.Represented ACG across the US, Europe and Israel running workshops, presentations and demonstrations.Designed / managed numerous programmes including - EH101 Air Intake Tooling, V-22 Nacelles, RB524 H3 Nacelles, Falcon 9000 Tail Fan Cowl Doors, etc.Shop floor Team Leader for numerous motor racing projects including Jaguar "Le Mans", Ligier's JS27 to 31, March and various Indy/GTP projects, in many cases representing the company to provide manufacturing input at the components design stage.
