I joined Grant Thornton in 1997 having trained at a Top twenty London based firm. Deciding it was time to specialise I chose audit and left general practice behind.I became a partner in 2001 following a 15 month secondment to the National Management Board and in 2002 returned to the Audit Practice with a remit to grow the Financial Services offering.I was Head of Financial Services Audit based in our Finsbury Square office for six years taking the department through the £10m recurring revenues milestone. In the FS Audit team we deal with audits for a broad range of financial services businesses across the Banking, Insurance and Investment Management sectors and I look after a dynamic portfolio of entrepreneurial growing businesses across these sectors.I was elected and served three terms on what is now called the firms Partnership Oversight Board, the Governance body that sits alongside the National Leadership Board. I am also a member of the firms Partner Director Selection Panel charged with the entrance interviews for all new directors and partners both internal and external.I spent some time in a Finance partner role as part of the London Leadership Team and also acted as a Board member for a number of years for Grant Thornton's wider Financial Services Group. A key part of any partners role is to provide a solid succession for their business and I have invested a lot of time in our emerging talent in bringing through new partners and a strong director line for our Financial Series Audit team.
