Programming work on some pretty heavy duty, intensively used, educational testing applications for clients such ETS, the Educational Testing Service. Part of the excitement and challenge here was programming and configuring servers for optimal performance under heavy load.

Completed hundreds of Web projects in the early Web era and subsequent maturing days. It was neat to embrace the possibilities of web technology fairly early on and consult with clients -- large, small, corporate, non-profit -- about the exciting new possibilities. Worked with two small startup companies in addition to on my own as a consultant.

Worked at the headquarters of an NGO consisting of Spanish-only speakers on projects to illuminate and fight the problem of involuntary disappearances throughout Latin America. Traveled to Lima, Peru for the organization's annual congress, as well as to Geneva, Switzerland to represent FEDEFAM at a United Nations meeting charged with drafting a U.N. Facilitated many great volunteer projects with many great people and a great boss in Executive Director Barbara Frey. Edited and published articles and reports on various human rights issues. Attended the 1987 session of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights in Geneva. Organized a 1988 colloquium at the Palais des Nations in Geneva for U.N. Special Rapporteurs on various countries and human rights concerns designed to share best practices.
