From February 2016 until May 2017 I worked as Human Resources Developer (HRD) at Thumb Correctional Facility. This job entails working as the Institutional Training Officer. I was responsible for writing training plans and keeping all 306 employees up to date on their training. I have developed training modules, scheduled and instructed classroom training, conducted weapons training for qualified staff, and taken part in the orientation of new staff. I also worked as an adjunct trainer for Corrections Officer training academy and The Emergency Response Team Operator School. I have worked in most facets of the correctional setting. I have worked yard patrols, the exterior perimeter in the tower and perimeter security vehicle. I have worked transporting offenders. I also had an opportunity to work in field services in a corrections center as well as the after care portion of Special Alternative Incarcerations (SAI) at the Bootcamp Aftercare Detention Facility. For the last 24 years of my career I was a member of the MDOC Emergency Response Team. I retired as a team leader and 1 of 6 district training coordinators for the entire state. I have participated in numerous activation's and have been certified as a trainer. I am also an active Firearms trainer, CQB trainer, and Active Shooter trainer, among other areas.I also enjoy the occasional opportunity to assist with recruiting for the MDOC, I was a recruiter from 2006-2019.

I was a Paramedic responding to emergency calls and working actively in training new medics as a Field Training Officer.
