-Perform, as well as train others in, a wide variety of neurobehavioral tests involved in pharmacological and phenotyping studies using a variety of mouse models. Behavioral assays include: Y-maze Spontaneous Alternation, Novel Arm Y-maze, Morris Water Maze, Water T-Maze, Contextual Fear Conditioning, Forced Swim Test, Tail Suspension Test, Stress Induced Hyperthermia, Elevated Plus Maze, Open Field, Grip Strength, Rotarod, Metabolic Chambers, Startle Sensitivity, Pre-Pulse Inhibition, Radial Arm Maze-Perform, as well as train others in, stereotaxic surgeries in order to create lesions or deliver compounds/viruses into the brain. -Necropsy and tissue collection. -Data analysis and interpretation.In Vivo Skills:-Perform behavioral assays relevant to pain, schizophrenia, anxiety, depression, cognition, memory, and learning-Identification techniques: ear tags, ear notches, RFID microchip-Drug administration: PO, IP, SC, paw, intra-cranial, tail vein-Tissue collection: trunk blood, cardiac puncture, brain and periphery removal, CSF collection, perfusions-Surgery: Chronic constriction injury (Bennet and Xie model), general stereotaxic technique, post-op care-Toxicity assessment of novel compounds
