I used to think my "career" was supervising Staff in residential group homes and was going to go on until I retired. Then that ended and at the same time our daughter was born and needed someone to stay home with her rather than be placed in daycare. Ella was born with Down syndrome and needs to work hard to reach her milestones. Now I have a job with hours that allows us to work with her at home. Not necessarily a career and I couldn't be happier. At some point I will grow with a company because I've learned that my "career" wasn't residential care or mental health but supervising and teaching employees and that can occur in any environment.

He suffered from the disease of addiction. Currently I have spoken at several high schools, a children’s home and will be speaking to nursing students and pharmaceutical students at Duke University in September. Sharing Jordan’s Story And the faces of addiction as well as educating people regarding the stigma of addiction is an integral part of prevention.
