Over 20 years’ experience as a U.S. Coast Guard instructor, training specialist, technical SME utilizing knowledge of US Coast Guard surface fleet engineering maintenance logistic systems, and principles of Instructional Systems Design (ISD). • SME for all initial MTU USCG training course development for 87’ CPB, 154’ FRC, and 418’ WMSL platforms. Work included: Developed curriculum and set up training lab for new MTU 8V396TE94 Operator/Maintenance basic mechanical and electronic course at Training Center Yorktown. Was awarded the Coast Guard Achievement Medal for this development. Developed the FRC MTU Basic (Mechanical and Electronic), FRC MTU Advanced Mechanical, and FRC MTU Advanced Electronic USCG training curriculum/courses at Training Center Yorktown. Played an integral part in the initial development for WMSL MTU Basic training curriculum/courses at Training Center Yorktown. Developed curriculum outline, instructor and student guides, Level 2 evaluations, PowerPoint slides, procured required training equipment, and provided all documentation needed. Set up training lab for FRC MTU Basic, FRC MTU Advanced Mechanical, and FRC Advanced Electronic courses complete with engine/electronic control system/console installation and simulator set-up. Conceptualized, researched, designed, procured and/or fabricated the necessary special tools and training aids. Assisted MTU America Inc. senior trainer with training advanced MTU Electronics Level 2, 3, and 4 training courses. Conducted laboratory/practical/troubleshooting exercises to quantify knowledge gained by students.

Utilized ISD skills in all facets of curriculum design and development, including analysis, training/performance objective development and review, lesson plan development, student handout development, job aid development, and practical exam/test item development/review/evaluation for all of the USCG MTU courses and the original USCG Container Inspection course. Provided technical expertise and developed numerous Front End Analyses (FEA) and Job Task Analyses (JTA). Used analysis results and developed curriculum outlines, instructor and student guides, Level 2 evaluations, PowerPoint presentations, procured required training equipment, and provided all documentation needed.

Currently leading a team in naval engineering training development for basic and advanced level training courses for the US Coast Guard Fast Response Cutter propulsion equipment and control systems.Served as sub group supervisor for the machinery technician Class "A" and "C" schools where I managed the training for hydraulics, reverse osmosis plants, boilers, evaporators, and MTU propulsion sysytems.Held position as main propulsion CPO for 270' cutter leading the main propulsion shop through numerous successful patrols and major maintenance availabilites.

US Coast Guard Naval Engineering Manual 9000.6D, Naval Ships Technical Manual, and the Naval Engineering-Technical Information Management System (NE-TIMS now CG-LIMS), numerous US Coast Guard engineering logistics process guides and systems such as ALMIS, ACMS, NESS, FLS, etc.
