As Lead Portfolio Manager on Connected Studio, the BBC's digital innovation programme, I led the teams responsible for Business and Operations, the management of the pilot development portfolio, market engagement and the international events programme. Responsible for day-to-day delivery as well as shaping long-term strategic approach, as Connected Studio grew to work with the whole of the BBC including World Service, I continued to evolve our approach to innovation practice and technology trials, IP and contracting, and engaging with SMEs and partners.

I was responsible for delivery of the first phase of the BBC's Connected Studio innovation programme, from initial project scoping, through developing the format and idea selection process, to leading on the operational planning, due diligence, pilot commissioning, budget management and external engagement model. 18 events across the UK lead to 25 ideas from in and outside the BBC being taken forward into pilot development in the first year trial programme, and new IP models and contracting approaches have benefited the BBC and the companies we work with across the digital sector.

Conducted editorial reviews of various pan-BBC user services - registration, moderation, social, user data and feedback - commissioning research into user satisfaction and identifying opportunities for improvement to meet audience and business needs. Acted as editorial consultant for product teams working on related product development.

Had operational responsibility for the BBC's blogs, boards and comments and was the central editorial stakeholder for BBC social media product development. Secured funding for innovative predictive risk filter technology that contributed to 40% savings in my first year in the role. I managed the small-but-brilliant Moderation Services team, and blogged about moderation issues on the BBC Internet blog.

Producer on the Central Communities Team, working across nearly all the BBC's social media services. Primarily responsible for overseeing moderation, I also advised on a range of editorial issues around social media, such as child security, user support and management, rights policy and more.
