Founder & General Manager
I was Founder and General Manager of RealNet Marketing for roughly 20 years until Covid-19 destroyed our customer base. For two decades, RealNet was considered Atlanta's CMS Provider-of-Choice by some of the most significant organizations in the Southeast. RealNet's groundbreaking product line of Enterprise Content Management Solutions was the established industry leader and top companies lined up for our services. RealNet’s Enterprise CMS client list includes Federal Express, First Data, Atlanta Regional Commission and Gannet Company among many others.
Founder & Managing Partner
Advancing Georgia Dept. of Banking & Finance Through Technological InnovationIn the 1990’s, I founded a Document Imaging company named Megasys Imaging Systems in Norcross, Georgia. Our small business with just 12 full time employees was performing extremely well and had developed an excellent reputation for providing quality turnkey solutions that paid for themselves within a year or two. Our products & services were considered outstanding and among the best offered in the Southeast at the time. After our first year, instead of proactively chasing sales opportunities, our reputation for excellence had companies coming to us to purchase our systems. Our installations were usually backlogged two to three months out with three to six projects in the wait.At one point, Megasys was contracted to develop a system for Georgia's Department of Banking & Finance with a custom Document Management System to digitize their operation in order to prepare them for Georgia's rapidly expanding banking and financial industry needs.GDB&F wanted to streamline department workflow, increase productivity and free up expensive office real estate. Their combined savings from our solutions generated an ROI that paid off their investment in less than two years.Their project went optimally and our job was completed nearly two months earlier than promised. The department head was so impressed that he strongly recommended us to Georgia's Centers for Disease Control & Prevention.CDC was having a difficult time finding a company that was actively providing finished, quality Document Imaging/Document Mgmt. solutions. Much larger companies than ours had become experts at performing grand presentations and making bold claims, but none had clients who were actually using their product. We were chosen over Vignette, IBM, Xerox and many others because we had well over a dozen clients that had been using our systems for over a year - and were very satisfied with our line of software solutions.
Streamlining Centers For Disease Control Through Innovative Technology - Part 2
30 of the 33 copy machine operators from the Publications Dept. then began scanning all archived data along with files from where ever they could be found. Before long, all CDC data was made available to any qualified personnel who requested it within minutes. The 30 operators were eventually re-trained and transferred to other departments. The remaining 3 individuals stuck around Publications to help provide support on our systems and to help locate files that were difficult to access. For over a year, our Document Imaging / Document Management System spread throughout CDC centers all around the world. Much less paper was consumed, valuable real estate was freed up from paper storage, savings were incurred from the Publications Department and best of all - research data was made available at a much faster rate so that many of the world's problems were solved while sparing untold numbers from their ill effects. A nation-wide television show approached us and even performed a thorough story of our successes in the business community. The story celebrated our efforts to save trees from being turned into paper while CDC's important work making a difference in a much shorter time, saving individuals from harmful diseases and other negative influences.
Streamlining Centers For Disease Control Through Innovative Technology - Part 1
CDC had a publishing department in Atlanta that employed 33 full-time copy machine operators. Important documents came to them and they made copies for other related departments around the world. Many centers had been waiting for months on important documents and reports that were backlogged in their Publications Department. That's because once copied, most were shipped out by snail mail, some requests became misplaced and unfulfilled and even more were simply misfiled or mislaid. It literally took months to get one's hands on critical data that was desperately needed months prior - if it got to them at all.Megasys Imaging Systems was contracted to develop a software system for CDC that would pull documents from their native servers, scan files from paper-based sources, and even more data was introduced that was in mixed media format. Everything was standardized and sent to our client's data servers that we'd developed and provided. Once documents were online, they were immediately available to all centers around the world approved for access to CDC's Wide Area Network. End of Part 1
Account Manager
I was hired as an Account Manager for RedDot CMP, responsible for sales in the Southeastern region of the US. I was employed by RedDot for exactly one month. While with RedDot, I introduced their software to large companies in the Southeast like First Data Corp., (which was doing over 2 Trillion dollars in business per year), Atlanta Regional Commission, Federal Express and more. While working for RedDot, I broke sales records for highest sales total in one month and largest sale ever made for the company. Neither record was broken for the following 6 years until the company was purchased by a much larger competitor.During the month I was working for RedDot - I'm confident I would have made many more sales, but the first two weeks were consumed by new product training in their Anaheim, CA. offices. My sales position for RedDot had to be redefined because my sales activities consumed all their in-house technical resources while leaving none for the company's other sales people. An agreement was reached whereby I was given two copies of their software, which were valued around $80,000 ea. One copy was for me to sell to fund the establishment of my new content management company, the other was to run in-house for a host of different reasons.I finished out 1999 supporting and expanding the systems I sold while with RedDot - while establishing a strong foundation for my new upcoming business. During that time, I sold many more systems for RedDot as a value added reseller of their software.Myself and my new, fully trained employees opened our new company in January of 2000 under the name "RealNet Marketing of Buford, Georgia." The company operated on my horse farm in a converted, state-of-the-art commercial building.
