Volunteering since October of 2001 in the Blockhouse & District Fire Department, I slowly moved up the ranks of Officers beginning with Lieutenant and Captain. In October of 2011, I was voted on by the membership and became Blockhouse's first Female Fire Chief as well as the first in Lunenburg County. In March of 2022 after 10 1/2 years I stepped down as Chief but am currently active helping our new Chief and have accepted a position as Captain of our Department. We are all volunteers and are working toward the safety and betterment of the community. We have many volunteers including Firefighters, Fundraisers, Honorary Firefighters, and community members, all working toward keeping our community safe. I am so proud to be part of this team..
