Basically, Paul hung out with a bunch of crazy teens. They kept him young. For nearly a decade Paul has led youth mission trip to Door of Faith Orphanage. Some of these trips have included over 60 people and 5 different churches. Paul's role was to organize and execute the entire trip, including everything from coordinating between churches, making sure the vehicles have oil, raising funds to providing assurance to parents that their kids will be safe. The trip is a major undertaking requiring months of preparation, planning and careful delegation. Every trip has been a life changing success for both Paul and each participant. It has definitely been a labor of love. As of April 2013 Paul handed off the majority of the youth leadership responsibilities. Paul still leads trips to Door of Faith and is involved as a coach and mentor for teens.

Baja California, Mexico

In 2005 Paul and his wife felt called to volunteer a year of their life at an orphanage in Mexico. It was an undeniable draw and their life circumstances began to quickly align with this vision. Soon enough, they found themselves heading South on an epic journey that would change them forever. They absolutely loved the time at Door of Faith and its sister orphanage, Casa de Paz. That is part of the reason they still lead a large group of people down there every year. The majority their joint responsibilities were to coordinate, manage and support volunteer teams, ranging from a few to 50 plus people. They helped them organize and execute many different projects from construction to community events. Mostly, they helped teams get whatever they needed in order to succeed in their goals while in Mexico. They also worked directly with the children, including teaching music and computers and organizing events. If you want to learn more about Door of Faith or our adventure, please ask. In the early days of the wireless web, Paul was recruited into Nextel for his consulting and technical sales experience. They quickly trained him in the Nextel IDEN network, the Wireless Access Protocol and Nextel's consultative selling approach. Paul then assisted the field sales team in procuring business contracts for Nextel's various wireless web products. Six weeks after being hired, Nextel corporate announced a 5% across the board headcount reduction. Last in, first out. It was a surprise, but still a great experience.
