- Developed Firefly’s first turbopump for the Alpha launch vehicle's second stage LOx-RP rocket engine from preliminary design through two generations of test hardware - Led design, analysis, manufacturing, assembly, test, and integration efforts while managing schedule, budget, manpower, and resources- Conducted and oversaw CAD modeling, GD&T, material selection, and analysis for over 100 unique components with limited supporting resources, then oversaw manufacturing, selected and ordered off-the-shelf components, and balanced and assembled the first test article- Collaborated with other propulsion REs to develop an integrated engine and best practices, with test engineers on test instrumentation and operations, and with avionics, stage systems, structures, and other departments to create and execute a complete launch vehicle development plan- Planned and constructed a dedicated turbomachinery integration facility for balancing, cleaning, servicing, and assembly of turbopumps- Planned and executed five major test campaigns with live rocket propellants, collected and analyzed over 150 data traces in Excel and Igor Pro, and successfully confirmed performance targets while identifying areas for design and reliability improvements- Also led development, manufacturing, and successful test campaigns for a small LOx-RP gas generator combustor

- Led design for propulsion mechanisms and structures for Firefly's small-sat orbital launch vehicle- Responsible engineer for 10+ subsystems and components on first and second stages, including gimbals, thrust vector control, and thrust structure- Managed a team of designers and analysts through all stages of the design process - from requirements to concept to design and analysis through manufacturing and testing

- Developed structures, mechanisms, and systems for inflatable orbital space habitats- Design co-lead for hatches, docking, and extra-vehicular activity accommodations and assisting with design of launch vehicle integration and separation systems- Responsible for definition of crew and systems requirements and incorporation into designs- Interfaced with colleagues, NASA, Launch providers, and customers to present designs, develop requirements, and improve designs based on past lessons learned.

- Responsible for design development, test setup construction, engine calibration, and testing operations to evaluate novel engine technologies - Led development projects for new engine systems, mechanisms, actuators, and sensors, as well as investigations into applications of emerging technologies and manufacturing processes including 3D printing, wireless sensing, and laser and nano-coating surface treatments- Collaborated with suppliers, designers, engineers, machine and tooling shops, metal casting and instrumentation labs, and test facilities to design, manufacture, and retrofit new technologies onto existing engine platforms, then coordinate and conduct testing and reporting of results

2.5-year program with six rotations -- Powertrain Mechanical Systems Engineer - Undertook responsibility for design and release of two engine cooling systems components - a coolant distribution manifold and a new technology in variable flow mechanical water pumps - for prototype engine builds. Led and completed a DFSS project on minimizing bore distortion for spray-bore liner applications. Supported dyno testing and cooling system development for prototype phases.- Jefferson North Assembly Plant Electrical Quality - Diagnosed electrical issues during launch of 2014 Grand Cherokee and 2014 Durango. Developed database to track all repairs to improve quality team response - still in use today. Tracked quality issues and developed plans for improvement.- SUV Advance Supplier Quality - Certified suppliers' ability to meet production demands as new products are gearing up for launch. Checked pilot build vehicles for supplier issues, following up with suppliers on potential fixes, and seeing the issues through to resolution - Law Enforcement Vehicle Integration - Provided Data Acquisition and Electrical support for brake development and vehicle validation efforts in preparation for Police Car Trials, wrote an article for publication in Police Fleet Manager Magazine outlining the functionality of key fobs for police applications, and worked with police officers to identify areas of potential improvement in Chrysler police vehicles - Electrified Powertrain Calibration - Tested and developed algorithms to synchronize gasoline and electric propulsion systems efficiently, logged and analyzed data to validate calibrations for customer experience and drivablity - Active Chassis & Safety - supported development and release of rear view camera systems, plus research and development in future vehicle video systems

- Motivated by the prospect of the discovery of new alternative energy ideas, investigated theories seeking to find and explain nontraditional geothermal energy sources - Collaborated with researchers at the Naval Research Laboratory, George Washington University, and in Michigan to develop plans and procedures for experiments - Surveyed, determined and ordered needed parts, and repaired broken down ultra-high pressure equipment needed for experiments at the Naval Research Laboratory - Setup a data acquisition system to be used with the high pressure machinery - Recorded and performed preliminary analysis of data from experimental procedures
