While at 2K Games I had the privilege to learn about the Video Game industry and what steps a game goes through to become published. I have learned that a game must start off as a Pre- Alpha build and the QA department is responsible for any and all bugs that must be input into a database for developers to work on and fix. From the Pre- Alpha it transitions into the Alpha to the Beta to the Gold Master Copy build that is sent off to Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. My main job responsibilities were to input bugs of all severities into the data system and regression of all bugs by verifying that they are fixed or fixed denied. I have helped create and implement Test Plans for MLB 2K7 and NBA 2K7 and have sent out nightly reports to developers for these projects. During regular work hours I would write and talk to the Developers about the aspects of the game and what can be done to fix any major problems with the project. I was asked to help with the management of a team of twenty five quality assurance testers. And I have also worked close with the compliance team and have on occasion assisted them when a build had to be shipped to the SCEA. At 2K Games I have worked on the following titles: Prey, Family Guy, Dungeon Siege: Throne of Agony, MLB 2K7 and 2K8, NCAA College Hoops 2K7 and 2K8, NHL 2K7 and 2K8, NBA 2K7 and 2K8, The Bigs, The Darkness, and Bioshock.
