A significant shift from potato to maize cultivation and excessive use of pesticides on ginger by farmers was reported by us to the Department of Agriculture, Karnataka state. Farmers were trained for mushroom cultivation and use of bio-fertilizers. Farmers were also educated with field day and exhibitions on various technologies available for agriculture and the forecast system for late blight of potato at the UAS, Bangalore.
