About Paul Ethridge

I am very glad to have been named Executive in Residence at the School of Business at Tennessee Tech University in addition to my duties as a member of the adjunct faculty. Sharing my experiences as a strategic Human Resources executive, and relating real-world examples to academic concepts helps students understand and remember them for application to further their future education and careers. During my career, I focused on aligning the goals of the business with the goals of individuals to provide a competitive edge to organizations through meaningful employee engagement.My broad leadership experience at local, regional, national, and global levels provided me with the tools to build and transform organizations. I have led significant changes in companies facing mergers and acquisitions, and performance turnaround challenges. The resulting organizational culture changes made from these efforts were significant, measurable, and long-lasting. As a leader, I empowered employees to accomplish their responsibilities ensuring they have the tools, resources, and leadership skills for success. I helped build their self-esteem and confidence by challenging them to do things that they didn’t think they could do and celebrated with them when they accomplished them. Most of all, I related to people at all levels of the organization with genuine respect and integrity always ensuring that each individual was "seen" and appreciated for their presence and efforts.As I have entered the transition to the next phase of my career, it gives me great joy and satisfaction to apply these business skills to students and future business leaders in my new world of academia.
