In Portugal, most kids aged nine were given a Lego set or some sort of toy for their birthday, my parents offered me a computer, at a time computers were something magical, and so it began.Unsurprisingly I went to university to become a computer science engineer. After a very short stint as a technician in my very first job, I started to manage teams and to be given increased autonomy leading the technological evolution in the companies I worked for.Lately my attention has been focused on the following:Migrate on premises infrastructure and applications to hybrid or native cloud environmentsAdopt a zero trust mindset and roadmapDevelop identity awareness and controls with single sign on, role based and access based control access, just enough and just in time access using multiple identity providersEnforce information security using multiple tools, penetration scans, vulnerability management, mobile device management or cloud access security brokersAutomate repetitive tasks or controls either by developing pipelines or robot process automationEnsure availability of services with infrastructure monitoring, application performance management or real user monitoringEnsure process compliance with several industry standards (ISO, PCI-DSS, HiPAA, FedRAMP, SOX)Still have to manage a lot of legacy, fortunately I have been managing projects to adapt most of it to a cloud only strategy.
