Hello! I’m Pei (pronounced “pay”) and I’m a software engineering leader with ten years of experience building high-functioning teams and delivering projects on time. I've held roles including developer, engineering manager, director of engineering, and VP of Engineering. I've helped scale an engineering org through its Series A, B, and C.My superpower is being able to build a culture of collaboration and accountability wherever I go. I do this by never shying away from difficult conversations, either with my direct reports or those above me all the way up to the executive level. I’m a big believer of using metrics to drive performance and incremental improvements on teams I manage (ask me about my award-winning engineering efficacy initiative!). I have hands-on experience hiring/building teams from scratch, managing remote teammates, designing SDLCs, and overseeing a platform handling millions of daily events while maintaining a 99.99% uptime SLA.As I’ve grown my career on the management track, I’ve continued to stay close to the technology by designing system architecture and building prototypes (most recently around generative AI).
