Area Manager
CurrentThis position oversees the work and directs Superintendents at multiple construction sites ensuring quality standards and product delivery dates are met.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Hire, train, evaluate, coach and develop Superintendents and skilled labor.• Delegate and assign work to Superintendents.• Ensure Superintendents adhere to company policies & procedures, including but not limited to production management, scheduling, safety and Superintendent Job Scope definitions.• Source, negotiate rates, and assist with workforce planning of subcontracted labor.• Analyze construction Shell plans to determine construction requirements, recommending value engineering and alternative construction techniques.• Attend pre-construction meetings.• Review project plans in order to ensure that estimated materials are sufficient; analyze material usage with Shell Superintendent during initial job setup to adjust material packages as needed.• Communicate differences between actual and estimated material counts and labor piece counts to Estimating Department personnel.• Serve as main contact for job site problem resolution between builders, other trades, inspectors, sub-contractors and employees.• Ensure Shell Superintendent is meeting customer requirements (deadlines, quality, safety, etc) and serves as additional customer relations contact between the company and its customer base.• Perform safety site inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
