I am an English solicitor with over 15 years of experience as a lawyer in private practice and in the UK government. I now work as a legal editor and translator, with strong expertise in knowledge management for lawyers and legal training. I also advise on English law issues arising in the context of client matters. My skills have been developed in the six years I have spent working in the Russian offices of leading international law firms, as a result of which I have developed a deep knowledge of the Russian legal market. I bring to bear across the full range of my work my extensive experience of international corporate transactions, of a wide variety of commercial contracts and of various sports law issues.In addition to my experience in and connected with Russia, I qualified and spent 10 years of my career in the UK. I have also worked in Paris and Brussels. I studied law at Manchester Metropolitan University and have two postgraduate legal qualifications from King’s College, London. I obtained my first degree, in French and Russian, from Cambridge University.In my spare time, I am a published author. I have contributed articles to a range of publications both in relation to my professional areas of expertise and to personal interests. When in government, I drafted secondary legislation currently on the statute book and took part in the drafting process for primary legislation, including what became the Companies Act 2006.Specialties: Legal editing and translating, knowledge management and training, plus English law as applicable to a broad range of corporate, commercial and sports law transactions in Russia.
