Manage network testing laboratory for major Akibia client. Responsible for administering the lab's many Linux and Windows based systems, as well as Extreme Networks and Cisco based switched network infrastructure. Provide technical support to laboratory users, system installations, software configuration, hardware support, monitoring of operations. Migrated core network services to new hardware. Provide UNIX/Network administration services for many of Interliant's clients, including Hitachi, Cisco Systems, MIT Lincoln Laboratory, NEC, and NBER. These services include installing and configuring Cisco routers and switches, Contivity VPNs, Checkpoint, Nokia, and SonicWall firewalls, and Network Appliance file servers. Unix operating systems include Solaris, Linux, HP-UX, AIX, FreeBSD, IRIX, and others. Expertise in TCP/IP network protocols includes SMTP (SENDMAIL), DNS (BIND), NIS/NIS+, NFS, HTTP, FTP, SSH, and SAMBA. Skilled in the use of Legato Networker, Veritas Volume Manager, and HP-OpenView network management software. Shell scripting experience includes Bourne, C, and PERL. Performed vulnerability assessments of servers and networks using nessus, nmap, and other tools. Set up an in-house class on basic Cisco router configuration.
