The Global Energy Center at the Atlantic Council is a new center within the Atlantic Council devoted to tracking and influencing the global transition to renewable sources of energy. The Global Energy Center addresses the generation, delivery and consumption of energy in hopes of fostering innovations in regulatory energy policy, delivery system design and efficient consumption protocols.

Senior Critic in the Department of Furniture Design at the Rhode Island School of Design. I teach the sophomore curriculum, senior degree project and the sustainability curriculum for the department. Working with colleagues, I have designed and implemented the Nature-Culture-Sustaianbility Studies Concentration for all of RISD. This is a 21 credit concentration open to any student at RISD. I teach the only required course entitled The NCSS Core Seminar. I designed this course to be an immersion into the comprehensive and anticipatory nature of sustainability issues. I currently serve as the NCSS Concentration Coordinator.

My board membership was primarily devoted to the Gaviotas Carbon Offset Initiative, The ZERI Learning Initiative, issues of environmental education and green design. I also served as treasurer of the organization.

The ZERI Learning Initiative is an effort to bring innovative curricula on sustainability to K-12 education. Zero Emissions Research Initiatives is a worldwide network of approximately 3,000 scientists doing cutting edge research in a variety of fields devoted to a sustainable future for the planet. Gunter Pauli wrote a series of 36 fables, each based on the work of a single scientist, on which the ZERI Learning Initiative is based. The current economic downturn and the resulting funding woes has forced a postponement of this initiative.
