Operations Geology - operational support for well engineering and subsurface teams. Planning, execution, data acquisition, cost-performance analysis and contracting for mud logging, wireline and LWD. Analysis of performance, look-back and review. Geopressure prediction and real-time assessment. Preparation of well design summaries, geological programmes. Working closely with well engineers to successfully and safely drill development, appraisal and exploration wells - on time and on budget . Exploration and Development advice - drilling and oil/gas prospect evaluation and risk assessment.Decommissioning - of wells, and developing databases. Assessment of exploration opportunities in Namibia/Africa. Undertook training in: solar (Technical University of Delft), hydrogen, wind, carbon capture (CCUS) and climate change (University of Edinburgh).

Head of sub-function. Operations Geologist for non-operated wells (7 offshore and onshore rigs). Coordinating resourcing of operations geologists, wellsite geologists and operations petrophysics/wireline/LWD witness across group operations, including 168 exploration wells (95 successes), 109 appraisal wells and 546 development wells, of which 114 deepwater wells (51 operated). Responsible for team with petrophysical operations cost savings totalling $192 mln and operations geology saving $50 mln (2013-2020). Leading team of 3-12 people. Responsible for Geopressure Pore Pressure Predictions and process, along with real time pore pressure and geomechanical assessment for wells. Developed-assimilated high structured wells database - thousands of wells, with ~1200 competent-training-development directories and 70 field trip-videos. Provision of advice-guidance on operated wells and custodian of Geopressured Standard and Guidelines. Member of Group Crisis Management team (operations-planning) for 10 years. Operations period 2019-2020 - successful operated drilled exploration wells in Guyana (Jethro, Joe), Surinam (Araku) and Namibia (Cormorant) and non operated contributions to Peru (Marina) and Guyana (Carapa, Repsol operated). Supported well engineering in safe execution of drilling/completing wells whilst collecting high quality geological-petrophysical datasets. Provided operations geological resource/team and support for Kenya oil discoveries 2013-2018 - total E&A 50 wells. Adviser to Exploration Director and Managers on drilling results/petrophysical assessment and data collection risks/opportunities. Coordination of successful water drilling programme. Kenya in semi-desert area.

Responsible for coordinating operational capability for exploration drilling in sub-Saharan Africa with focus areas of Tanzania, Uganda, Gabon and Madagascar. Including preparation of Geological Programmes, Well Test Programmes and Proposals. Tracking of well budgets and raising of AFE for well campaigns. Operation technical rep for TCMs/OCM. Monitoring and reporting on operations geology-well results.

Responsible for setting up exploration and appraisal-development operational capability for Uganda operated assets, including leading Uganda oil export joint studies project-feasibility. Coordinated drilling programmes, schedules, operational updates on drilling, well proposals and campaign budget proposals and drilling-evaluation execution for 60 well programme over 3 years (mainly operated wells, also non operated, 4 rig campaign). Part of team that discovered 1 billion bbls recoverable oil in 3 year period .-through safe geological operations.

Responsible for asset management, development drilling and production of 80 mmscfgd gas field offshore UK Southern North Sea. Including re-development planning, well proposals, workover, maintenance, production, budgets, resourcing, opex and capex for fields and license area.Risk assessment, planning and operations of development drilling through Zechstein overpressure/squeezing salts and dolomite - into depleted gas reservoirs. Casing/tubing collapse and kick risk mitigation.

EP Business Adviser for Shell operations in Brunei – producing 205,000 bbls oil/day onshore and 30 million m3/day gas to Brunei LNG. Board director of Brunei Shell Petroleum. Board adviser to BLNG. Board Director of Shell Overseas Services Ltd and Shell Malaysia E&P Bhd. Governance and shareholder representation for Shell interests in Brunei (BSP and Shell Deepwater Borneo). Worked on EPA re-organisation and support for Global Staffing Resourcing workstream up to September 2003. Led Activity Reviews of operating units (8 teams) in Asia Pacific region and coordinated analysis for business improvement / rationalisation and regionalisation. Won two special award bonuses for analysis/study work in final year.

Qarn Alam PDO: Responsible for managing assets, financial and people resources of oil province in PDO (500 km by 250 km). Oil production of 150,000 bbl oil/day (grew from 88000 bbl/day early 1999), 500 oil company staff, 5000 contractors, 8 oil drilling rigs, 4 workover hoists. Capex $220 mill/yr, Opex $75 mill/yr, 40 oil fields, 1300 mill bbls reserves, 7 billion bbls STOIIP. Near field exploration capital managed $25 mill (5 wells in 2001, 5 discoveries) incl. Mukhaizna Steam Project ($250 mill). Manager of upstream gas operations for government - 12,000 m3/day condensate, 30 mill m3/day gas (total production 340,000 bbl oil eq.). Operate main crude export line in central region (500,000 bbls).

Bahja/Rima PDO: Responsible for managing assets, financial and people resources of area in PDO. Production 132,000 bbl oil/day, 250 staff, Capex $80 mill, Opex $40 mill, 35 oil fields, 500 mill bbls reserves, 3 billion bbls STOIP. Includes two interior camp locations and new Mukhaizna heavy oil project (15,000 bbl/day). Re-structuring of Rima field to close camp and centralize at Nimr.

Started as Geological Engineer - then Team Leader, Asset Team - Integrated exploration/ engineering/ operations development team (3 new offshore Gulf of Mexico gas developments). Developed business model/scorecards. Lead project design and implementation team (from gas reservoir to on-shore gas plant) – total 10 new wells, 3 new platforms, 7 producing fields. First ever shallow-gas horizontal wells in Shell Group (3 wells at 500m depth).
