Operations Geologist
CurrentOperations Geologist (Staff/Full Time/On-Site). Planning and execution of North Sea development wells. Monitoring geological operations. Supporting subsurface and drilling/wells teams. Preparing Well Design Summaries, Geological Programmes, Pore Pressure Predictions, Data Acquisition Documents. Coordinating petrophysical data acquisition (LWD/wireline). Supporting well teams - good safe operations, whilst optimally acquiring geological/petrophysical datasets. Operations geological planning and execution of development wells for semi-sub, jack-up and platform drilling rigs in Central North Sea. Assessment of oil/gas/condensate well opportunities - borderline HTHP and narrow margin drilling. Support for workover-production operations (reservoir/overburden/cap rock fracture pressures - in depleted/overpressured reservoirs). Temperature prediction. Well design for near field exploration-appraisal opportunities. Geomechanics, wellbore stability, offset well review/mud weight selection. Well design. Cost benefit analysis - logging/time/cost/value of information. Geomechanical calculations/assessment in support of scale-squeeze, P&A/decommissioning and workover/pump operations (sand frac in depleted reservoirs). Geothermal gradient assessment, Anti-collision and donor well suitability assessments. Regional geopressure and temperature prediction - impact on decommissioning and new well design. Tilted oil water contact assessment. Borehole imaging and fracture assessment. As of 1 Nov 2023 - Repsol Resources UK Ltd (North Sea Asset of Repsol, 100% Repsol)
