The scope also included the deployment of Novell Linux OS and a corporate product catalogue based on www.comet.co.uk. The project partnered with Accenture from a technical perspective but also worked with IBM to deliver a new messaging infrastructure (IBM MQ). Deployment was outsourced to HP & Cetec with implementation occurring overnight at 250 sites. This now provides the foundation to enable wireless / self service type devices to be utilised instore with minimum UI re-engineering.- Commencement of a strategy to centralise non-business critical functionality from a bespoke EPOS system to a series of J2EE applications running within IBM Websphere Portal.- Develop of a Retail Intranet utilising IBM Websphere Portal and Web Content Management tools.
